The "Final Episode Public Viewing & Talk Show in Otsu" event for the NHK Taiga drama "Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)" (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, was held on December 15th in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. Yoshitaka, who plays the main character Mahiro, and Tasuku Emoto, who plays Michinaga, visited Ishiyama-dera Temple in the city before the talk show. Emoto said, "It was my first time visiting Ishiyama-dera Temple, and there is a main hall at the back, and in front of that there is a large stone. I was moved and thought, 'It's just like a drama set (I've seen during filming)! The art team is amazing!' It was an exciting time."
Emoto also commented, "What left a lasting impression on me was the many worshippers seeing me off when I left Ishiyama-dera Temple."
In response to Yoshitaka's comment that "I'm glad that Emoto was playing the role of Fujiwara no Michinaga," he said, "I want to say the exact same thing back!" and recalled, "Yoshitaka's acting was so much fun, even while acting, because the reflective sensations came right out of my head, and I always felt calm and enriched."
"Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)" is the 63rd taiga drama. Set in the aristocratic society of the mid-Heian period, the protagonist is Murasaki Shikibu (Mahiro), who later wrote "The Komyo ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of the Heian aristocracy and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.
