The popular omnibus drama "Tales of the Unusual 24 Winter Special," in which Tamori serves as the storyteller, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" (Saturday 9pm) on December 14th. This special edition will feature four episodes: "City Lives" starring Sato Shori of the popular group "timelesz," "Ah Homeland" starring Kabuki actor Onoe Matsuya, "The 1st Tanaka Family Father Audition" starring Tanaka Takushi of the comedy duo "Ungirls," and "Free" starring actress Kiyohara Nana. This will be the first time that Sato and the other four have appeared and starred in "Tales of the Unusual."
[City Lives] This is Sato's first time playing himself. The city is the world's largest creature that can read human memories and mimic a city. Sato Shori (Sato) and the cameraman behind the show, Mizutani Kentaro (Itakura Takeshi), who were waiting in the car after hearing that it was a location shoot for an animal program, are swallowed up and trapped by the city.
In order to feature the ecology of the mysterious "town," the program begins an in-depth interview with Misaki Tsuji (Yuki Katayama), a conservation officer with the Urban Life Protection Organization (commonly known as Toseiho), the only living human in the town. As the interview progresses, the program explores the reason why the town trapped Sato and his friends, as they witness strange phenomena occurring in the "town," such as buildings moving through the wilderness and "pseudo-residents" that look just like real people created by buildings that grow out of themselves.
[Oh Motherland] The original work is a novel of the same name included in the short story collection "Omisore Society" by Shinichi Hoshi, who wrote over 1,000 works, mainly science fiction, and was called the "god of short stories." This is the first time in 20 years that one of Hoshi's works has been adapted into a film for "The Tales of the Unusual," since "I'm a Killer," which aired in 2004.
"I" (Onoue Matsuya), a TV program producer, gets a call from his superior (Tsuda Kanji). The small African nation of Pagizia has suddenly declared war on our country and is attacking our country in two small ships. By order of my superior, I am put in charge of a special news program and begin investigating the newly independent Republic of Pagizia. There are 40 days left until we reach the mainland. What will become of our country?
[The 1st Tanaka Family Father Audition] Tanaka Kenichi (Tanaka Takushi), an office worker, was working overtime every day and spending his days at work. When he returned home after working overtime again that day, his wife Azusa (Ikezu Sachiko) told him that she had something important to announce. He thought she was talking about getting divorced, but it turned out that she had decided to hold the "1st Tanaka Family Father Audition." This news spread quickly throughout the world, and Kenichi was forced to take on a unique group of people in the audition for the position of father of the Tanaka family.
[Free] Rika Shinozaki (Nana Kiyohara), who works at a video production company, was busy editing a video for a men's beauty salon. On the screen, there were a number of free stock images of men (Kensou Fukutsu) such as "a man cooking," "a man having a drink in the evening," and "a man standing still." When Rika stopped working and returned from her break, the "men" that should have been on the computer screen were no longer there. Then she heard a noise from the office where no one should be, and when she turned around, the "men" that should have been on the screen were standing there...
