August 19th "Haikyu!! Day" project implemented

It has been announced that a special project will be held on August 19th, "Haikyu!! !! Day," an anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's popular volleyball manga. A YouTube channel called "Hinagarasu Channel" will be launched exclusively on "Haikyu!!!! Day," and a special program will be streamed from 8pm on the same day. As a token of appreciation for the anime's 10th anniversary, Hinagarasu will be assisting Production IG, Shueisha, TOHO Cinemas, and Animate. He will also be making an appearance on the radio show of MOMIKEN, a member of the rock band SPYAIR.

As part of "Haikyu!! Week," a pop-up event will be held in four cities across Japan until August 24th at the event space in front of the central ticket gates on the second floor of JR Sendai Station. In addition to new merchandise featuring original illustrations of the characters exhibited at local product exhibitions, past merchandise will also be on sale. The event is scheduled to travel to Osaka, Fukuoka, and Yokohama.

Following on from 2024, a collaboration with Kasho Sanzen will also be carried out. "Hagino Tsuki" will be released with original packaging featuring a newly drawn visual by Tsukishima Kei, and "Sendai Specialty Zunda Mochi" will be released with a newly drawn visual by Oikawa Toru on the packaging. When you order Zunda Saryo's "Zunda Shake Oikawa Toru", you will receive a straw tag featuring the visual. Collaboration goods featuring each visual will also be on sale.

The online store "TOHO animation STORE" will be selling new merchandise such as T-shirts with each character's famous line and illustration printed on them, and towels with the character's name or school name printed on them. Reservations for the new merchandise will be accepted from 5:00 PM on August 19th.

"Haikyu!!" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from February 2012 to July 2020. The story follows Hinata Shoyo, who suffered a crushing defeat in his final official match in middle school, as he reunites with Kageyama Tobio, a member of the opposing team, at Karasuno High School's volleyball team, and together they aim to reach the top. The total number of copies of the comic, including digital versions, published has exceeded 70 million.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April to September 2014, the second from October 2015 to March 2016, the third from October to December 2016, and the first cour of the fourth season aired from January to April 2020, and the second cour from October to December 2020. The first part of the "Haikyu!! The Movie FINAL" film series, "Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump," was released in February 2024 and was a huge hit, grossing over 20 billion yen worldwide. It has also been announced that a sequel, "Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump," will be produced.
