The script was written by Oishi Shizuka, who is writing a taiga drama for the second time since "Koumyou ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of Heian aristocrats and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.
In the final episode, Mahiro (Yoshitaka) is questioned by Rinko (Kuroki Haru) about her relationship with Michinaga (Emoto Tasuku), and she reveals everything that has happened between the two of them so far.
After learning everything, Noriko is shocked and entrusts a certain wish to Mahiro.
Later, Mahiro meets a strange girl who is interested in "The Tale of Genji" and hears her unexpected opinion. As time passes, Michinaga, who supported the country with him, and his beloved family members pass away, realizes that his own death is near and makes his final decision.
