The 47th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)" (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, entitled "Kanashikutomo (Even If It's Sad)", was broadcast on December 8th, and featured Rinko (Kuroki Haru) questioning Mahiro (Yoshitaka), "How long have you and your lord (Michinaga) been together?", attracting the attention of viewers.
In episode 47, Mahiro and his friends get caught up in a battle with foreign pirates, and Shumei (Matsushita Kohei) is killed in an enemy attack.
Meanwhile, the damage caused by the attack is reported to the Imperial Court, and as unrest spreads, Regent Yorimichi (played by Keisuke Watanabe) takes no action and stops reporting to Taiko Michinaga (played by Tasuku Emoto). Sanesuke (played by Ryuji Akiyama), who is frustrated by this situation, receives a letter from Takaie (played by Ryo Ryusei), who is in charge of the fight against the pirates.
Eventually, Michinaga learns of the threat from a foreign country and becomes concerned about Mahiro's safety...and so the story unfolds.
After losing Shuming, Mahiro even thought, "I wish I had died at the same time as Shuming," but with the desperate persuasion of Otomaru (Yabe Taro), she returned to the capital and was reunited with Michinaga.
At that moment, someone called out, "Fuji Shikibu, the Lady from the North (Rinko) is calling for you," and Mahiro went to meet Rinko.
"Now, I remember the day you first came to this mansion. You were smarter than anyone, and you removed all the imperfections all by yourself. Hehehehe..." Rinko began the conversation in a pleasant manner, reminiscing as she reminisced about the old days. However, her next question was, "So... how long have you and your lord been together?" and, without losing her smile, she asked, "Did you think I didn't notice?"
When Mahiro froze in response to Noriko's question, the episode ended with "To be continued." Then, a preview of the final episode, which will be broadcast on December 15th next week, was released, making it a "week-long episode."
On social media, viewers responded with comments such as, "'How long have you and your lord been together?' Aaaaaaah!!", "Straightforward", "That came straight to the point, scary", "And then he said 'To be continued'..." and "The atmosphere was chilly at the end...", "They came right before the final episode of Rinko-sama", "Ahhh, so the final episode ends with such a scary ending", "Lady of the North... scary", and "Rinko-sama is truly frightening".
"Dear Radiance" is the 63rd taiga drama. Set in the aristocratic society of the mid-Heian period, the protagonist is Murasaki Shikibu (Mahiro), who later wrote "The Tale of Genji," said to be the world's oldest novel written by a woman. The script was written by Oishi Shizuka, who is writing a taiga drama for the second time since "Koumyou ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of the Heian aristocracy and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.
