It was announced that Kazunari Ninomiya will be playing the mysterious man "Hikaru Kamiki" in the movie "Oshi no Ko - The Final Act" (directed by Smith), which will be released on December 20th. The announcement was made in the final trailer released on the 5th. The character holds the key to the story, and Ninomiya will be giving a performance full of madness like never before.
The movie is based on the popular manga of the same name (Shueisha), which has sold over 20 million copies (as of November). Aqua (Kaion Sakurai) and Ruby (Nagisa Saito), twin siblings of legendary idol Ai (Asuka Saito), pursue the truth behind their mother's death in the entertainment industry.
The eight-episode drama is currently being distributed on Prime Video, and the movie will continue the story. In episodes seven and eight of the drama, which began distribution on the 5th, Aqua, who is steadily approaching the truth behind Ai's death, swears revenge by naming a mysterious person named "Kamiki Hikaru."
Ninomiya, who has long been a fan of the original work, candidly confessed his feelings about appearing in this production, saying, "Of course, there will be all kinds of opinions, but I think if I can do something that will make all the fans of 'Oshi no Ko' who are wondering, 'Who is going to play Kamiki Hikaru' feel like they want to watch the show in as positive a way as possible, then I think that there will have been meaning in me being called. I decided to take part in the production with that thought in mind."
He then added, "All of the staff and cast members are participating in the work 'Oshi no Ko' with great respect. I hope that everyone will enjoy it in their own way."
Regarding Ninomiya's casting, Toei producer Ryusuke Imoto, who was the lead figure in launching the project, commented, "He dyed his hair and performed Kamiki Hikaru's 'The Right Lie' carefully yet boldly. I will never forget each and every one of his performances."
It was also announced that the young Kamiki Hikaru will be played by Soya Kurokawa, who won the Newcomer Award at the 66th Blue Ribbon Awards for his role in the movie "Kaibutsu" (2023). The already released poster visual has also been updated, highlighting Kamiki Hikaru's presence.
