It has been announced that the TV anime "The Lady Protected by the Gorilla God is Loved by the Royal Knights," based on the comic adaptation of a light novel that originated from the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist," will begin airing in April 2025. The main cast has also been announced, with Nakamura Kanna playing the protagonist Sophia Leelah, who is scouted by the Royal Knights to become a squire after gaining the protection of the "Gorilla God," along with Otsuka Takeo as Louis Scarrel, Kawashima Reiji as Isaac Shean, and Nagatsuka Takuma as Eddie Pheles.
A teaser visual drawn by character designer Hideo Shibuya has also been released. It depicts Sophia Leelah, her senior Louis Scarrel, who serves as a squire for the Royal Knights, and the "Gorilla God" who protects Sophia.
Nakamura commented, "When I first came across the work, I wondered what kind of girl a young lady blessed by the gorilla god would be? She is a timid, innocent, and hardworking girl. Gorillas are not just strong, they are also kind-hearted animals. There are some tough scenes thanks to the blessing, but it is also a heartwarming romantic comedy! The atmosphere on set was very friendly and I am having a lot of fun acting. Please look forward to the broadcast!"
The story is set in a world where people can receive the protection of various animal gods when they turn 16, and follows the growth of Sophia Leelah, a timid count's daughter who finds herself drawn to the gorilla god, said to be the strongest fighter. Sophia ends up gaining an unwanted power, which completely changes her peaceful school life. The anime will be directed by Fumitoshi Ozaki and produced by Kachigarasu.
