The films to be screened for the special "45th Anniversary Series! Doraemon Movie Festival," a celebration of the 45th anniversary of the popular Doraemon animated film series, have been announced. The six films selected by fan vote from the 43 films released to date will be screened for a limited time at 93 cinemas nationwide, and the films to be screened are "Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds" (1992), "Nobita and the Galaxy Express" (1996), "Nobita and the Wan-Nyan Space-Time Adventure" (2004), "Nobita and the New Steel Troops" (2011), "Nobita and the Secret Gadget Museum" (2013), and "Nobita and the Sky Utopia" (2023).
The screening period will be from January 17 to February 6, 2025, with two films screened per week. From January 17th to 23rd, "Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds" and "Nobita's Secret Gadget Museum" will be screened, from January 24th to 30th, "Nobita and the Galaxy Super Express" and "Nobita and the Sky Utopia" will be screened, and from January 31st to February 6th, "Nobita's Wan-Nyan Space-Time Legend" and "New Nobita and the Steel Troops" will be screened. Digitally remastered versions of "Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds", "Nobita and the Galaxy Super Express", and "Nobita's Wan-Nyan Space-Time Legend" will be screened for the first time.
As a bonus for admission, visitors will receive a "Doraemon the Movie Festival Special Sticker" featuring posters of the six films being screened.
The first film in the "Doraemon the Movie" series, "Nobita's Dinosaur", was released in 1980. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the series, the 44th and latest film, "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Picture World Story", will be released on March 7th, 2025.
