Actress Kayoko Kishimoto will appear on the August 2nd episode of the talk show "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV, Saturday 9pm), hosted by the comedy duo Ogiyahagi. Kishimoto will appear in her current car, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and will highlight that "the most important thing is that it's safe and reliable."
His first car was a Toyota Carina. On the show, he saw the Carina for the first time in a while and murmured, "I can see Chiba Shinichi here." Kishimoto, who co-starred with Chiba in a commercial for the same car, said, "I've always driven a Carina," and confessed the reason why, which seems unthinkable now. He looks back on the reasons why he has driven many highly safe foreign cars, including Volvo, BMW, and Mercedes, and the many accidents that have narrowly escaped death.
Apparently she was a mischievous girl. While causing trouble at an event for Hideki Saijo's new song, she was scouted by someone who approached her and entered the entertainment industry in her first year of high school. Ogiyahagi burst into laughter at one of Kishimoto's mother's reluctant remarks.
Kishimoto is well known for her hugely popular New Year's commercials in which she appeared alongside the late Kiki Kirin, as well as for her work in films directed by Kitano Takeshi. In her drama debut, she co-starred alongside veteran actors such as Kiki. "I was really strict, trying to do something for this girl," she said, expressing her gratitude for Kiki's "loving discipline." On the set of Kitano's 1998 film "HANA-BI," the director would give her instructions that would be impossible on a normal set, she recalls, saying, "I never knew it was so nerve-wracking."
