The teaser visual for Chapter 3, "Ultramarine Asteroid," of "Yamato Forever REBEL 3199," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," has been released. The visual was drawn by Kia Asamiya, who is in charge of the image drawings for the series. A special trailer featuring Sasha/Sanada Mio was also released. Chapter 3 will be released on April 11, 2025. A movie ticket card for Chapter 3 has also been released, which comes with a bonus poster designed with the teaser visual.
Writer Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director of "Yamato Forever REBEL 3199," and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also serve as general director of the latest installment. Naomi Yamato will be the director. There are seven chapters in total, with the second chapter being released on November 22nd.
The first "Space Battleship Yamato" TV anime was broadcast in 1974, and other films have since been produced, including "Space Battleship Yamato 2," "Space Battleship Yamato: Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato," and "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection." A remake of the first film, "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," was screened in theaters from 2012 to 2014, and "2202," a sequel to "2199," was screened in theaters and broadcast on TV from 2017 to 2019. "2205," the last of the two chapters, was screened in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
