The stage greeting for the completion of Chapter 2 "Red Sun's Sortie" of "Yamato Forever REBEL3199", the latest work in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato", was held on November 8th at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo). Before the screening of Chapter 2, general director Fukui Harutoshi and others appeared on stage. When asked about the key points of Chapter 2, Fukui hinted, "There will be a trailer (for Chapter 3), right? We haven't included one this time (for the completion screening). The trailer contains a lot of information. We'll save it for the release date. It will be on the first day (of Chapter 2's release), so please check it out."
Kuwashima Houko, who plays Mori Yuki, Horie Shun, who plays Isidor, and director Yamato Naomichi also appeared on stage for the stage greeting. Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage, served as the MC. It was announced that Han Megumi, who plays Sasha, would be appearing, and Han made a surprise appearance.
Writer Fukui will serve as general director of Yamato 3199, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love and Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage, and will also be general director of the latest work. Yamato Naomichi will be directing. There are seven chapters in total, with the second chapter, Red Sun's Sortie, set to premiere on November 22nd.
The first Space Battleship Yamato anime was broadcast on TV in 1974, and other series have also been produced, including Space Battleship Yamato 2, Farewell to Yamato: Warriors of Love, and Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection. The remake series Space Battleship Yamato 2199 was screened in theaters from 2012 to 2014, and the sequel to 2199, Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love, was broadcast in theaters and on TV from 2017 to 2019. The two-part series "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage" was released in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
