Takahashi Issei makes a surprise appearance in the drama "Tamiou R"

Actor Takahashi Issei made a surprise appearance in the first episode of the drama series "Tamiou R" Inspired by Ikeido Jun" (TV Asahi), which aired from 9pm on October 22nd. Takahashi appeared in the previous series "Minna no Ou," which aired in July 2015, but his appearance in this series had not been announced. He appeared in the role of Kaibara Mohei, just as he did nine years ago.

In the first episode, the protagonist Muto Taizan (Endo Kenichi), who is returning to the prime ministerial position after nine years, contacts his former secretary Kaibara, saying, "In that case, we need that guy." Kaibara answers the phone and shows his same high level of information gathering ability, impressing Taizan and the others, but he is actually climbing a cliff somewhere. As he is unable to rush to Taizan's side immediately, he sends in his excellent secretary Saejima Yuka (Ano-san).

Regarding his appearance this time, Takahashi commented, "I wonder if everyone will be surprised... (laughs)? But for me, it feels like the final episode of (the previous work) 'Minna no Ouji' was last week," commenting that the nine years have flown by in a flash. "I heard back then that there were a lot of people who liked 'Tamiou,' and this time too, the essence of 'Tamiou' comes out, so I hope you enjoy watching it," he appealed.

When asked what he kept in mind when playing Kaibara for the first time in nine years, he said, "I think it's that I really love Taizan. I want to make sure that I don't waver from loving Taizan as a person."

The drama is the first sequel in about nine years to 'Tamiou,' which is based on Ikeido's novel of the same name (Bunshun Bunko/Kadokawa Bunko), but this time it is an inspire work. Taizan, who has been approached by the prime minister again, is randomly switched with a citizen in each episode, making for an even more fantastical story.
