◇The following contains spoilers from the previous episode.
In "AIBOU," Ukyo Sugishita (Yutaka Mizutani), a member of the Metropolitan Police Department's Special Task Force, a desk-bound department, uses his genius mind to solve difficult cases with his partner. Since the series began airing in 2000, four partners have been created: Kameyama Kaoru (Yasufumi Terawaki), Kobe Takeru (Mitsuhiro Oikawa), Kai Toru (Hiroki Narimiya), and Kanjo Wataru (Takashi Sorimachi). In season 21, Kaoru, the original partner, returned to the Special Task Force, marking the 10th season for this pair.
Prime Minister Fujiwara (Toshio Shiba) is attacked with a remote-controlled bomb. The attacks on important people that followed the murder of Assemblyman Ashiya (played by Namiki Shiro) are similar to the historically significant assassinations of Home Minister Okubo Toshimichi and Prime Minister Ito Hirobumi in the Meiji era, but the police are unable to figure out the culprit's motives.
Ukyo, who arrived at the scene, realizes from traces at the scene that illegal part-time work may have been used. His deduction is correct, and following clues, he discovers that a certain person is deeply involved. The police investigate along that line, but Ukyo feels something is off.
Ukyo and Kaoru are asked by Takada (Kato Seishirō) to accompany him to the scene of the assemblyman's murder. He says he wants to learn Ukyo's investigative methods firsthand. The group investigates the scene once again. An unexpected fact emerges from the bloodstains. However, immediately afterwards, Kaoru and Takada, who had split up to investigate, find themselves in a desperate situation. There are also disturbing developments around Tonegawa (Den-den), the ruling party's secretary-general who manipulates the political world from behind the scenes...
The screenplay is by Tokunaga Tomihiko and the director is Hashimoto Hajime.
