The fourth installment of the "Maomao and Jinshi Travel the Four Seasons" project has been released in preparation for the second season of the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries," based on the light novel by Hinata Natsu, which was born from the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist." The project releases new visuals themed on seasonal plants on the 22nd of each month, and the theme of the fourth installment is "Autumn Cosmos." It depicts Maomao going out to a cosmos field with Princess Gyokuba and Princess Suzurei under an orange-hued sky at dusk in autumn.
The anime's official website will be distributing the same visual as a wallpaper for PCs and smartphones. It was released on October 22nd during a special program on the TOHO animation channel on YouTube, "The Apothecary Diaries 1st Anniversary and Season 2 Information Release Special."
The light novel of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagica Infos), and the comic adaptation has also become popular. The total number of copies of the original series published is over 38 million.
The story is set in the glamorous harem of a certain continent, where a young girl named Maomao, who is a poison taster, becomes embroiled in an incident that occurs in the harem, which is full of conspiracies and rumors, together with a handsome eunuch named Jinshi. The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon TV from October 2023 to March 2024. It has also been announced that a second season will be produced and broadcast in 2025.
