Comedy duos Audrey and Chocolate Planet will team up for the first time as MCs for the variety special "1-Minute Talk Festival THE Talk One," which will air on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9 PM) on June 6th.
In the show, contestants engage in Furuhata Ninzaburo." For this inaugural event, a total of 21 people, including comedians, actors, artists, and athletes, will participate, aiming to be the best at talking. Actors Asaka Seto and Tatsuomi Hamada will appear as guest observers to liven up the heated competition.
The rules are simple: contestants choose a topic from a list of themes provided by the show and then give a one-minute talk. The order of the talks is determined randomly on the spot by a roulette wheel spun by Masayasu Wakabayashi of "Audrey."
The first round will be conducted with three blocks of seven contestants each. Based on the judging of 50 audience members, the top two contestants from each block who made the audience think, "We want to hear more!", a total of six people, will advance to the second stage. The first champion will be decided in the final stage, which will feature the three winners from the second stage.
In Block A, Hiroyuki Iguchi (Westland), Kumamoto Pro-Wrestling (Beni Shoga), Ryuichi Kosugi (Black Mayonnaise), DJ KOO (TRF), Shun Matsuo (Chocolate Planet), professional figure skaters Kanako Murakami and Ginji Watanabe (Don Decorte) will participate. In "One Minute Later, I'll Take on a Big Shot," Matsuo will speak out against IKKO, whom he imitates, and Murakami will speak out against a senior figure skater. Watanabe will demonstrate the "one minute later, I'll make you sad" behavior he used to survive his struggling days when everyone around him was becoming successful.
In Block B, Shunsuke Ito (Oswald), Miki Inada (Benishoga), Toshiaki Kasuga (Audrey), Shinya Kote, Masahiro Sunada (BALLISTIK BOYZ), Yuki Hirako (Alco & Peace), and Yoshizumi will appear. In "I'll be bowing in 1 minute," Sunada will show a genuine bow of apology for a blunder he made during an event hosted by a senior! Kote will share a funny anecdote about big-name actresses he worked with during drama filming. Kasuga will poignantly recount an episode from his time living in Mutsumi-so, set to the music of "Kazumasa Oda for 1 minute."
In the final C block, contestants included Yudai Iwasaki (Kamomental), Seigikan Kotake, Buruma Konno, Soichi Nakaoka (Rotchi), Niiyama (Sayaka), Fukura P, and Anna Murashige. In "I'll Tell You Straight in 1 Minute," complaints arose from the studio regarding the talk of Seigikan Kotake, who is also a lawyer!? Murashige bluntly criticized a rival she had on a variety show.
◇ Comment from Masayasu Wakabayashi of "Audrey"
I thought all four of us would be MCing, so it was funny to see Matsuo and Kasuga sitting on the player side from beginning to end (laughs). You'll get to hear interesting stories from all sorts of genres, so I hope you'll just enjoy it! You'll also get to see a documentary of how this show gradually comes together, so I hope you'll follow its history as well. The players are also figuring things out as they go, so please look forward to it.
◇Comment from Toshiaki Kasuga of "Audrey"
For some reason, I was on the player side with Matsuo-kun (laughs). I've worked with ChocoPlat-kun on other shows a long time ago, and I've been keeping an eye on him since then... I was happy and had fun to reunite with him and do a show together this time. I think it's an easy-to-watch show that's in line with the current trend of short videos. No matter where you start watching, it's over in a minute, so even if you leave in the middle, just come back right away. Everyone, please come and go on this show (laughs).
◇Comment from Shohei Osada of "Chocolate Planet"
I haven't had the chance to work with Audrey recently, so I'm incredibly happy to be able to work closely with them this time. I'd be happy if they became regulars, but I'm a little worried that as soon as they do, Kasuga and Matsuo might be dropped from the cast (laughs). It's only one minute long, but there are some pretty tricky talk topics, and each of them has their own style of speaking, so I think you'll enjoy that too. You'll also get to see the show take shape, and I think it will feel like a completely different show if you watch it the second time after watching it once. Please enjoy it twice!
◇Comment from Shun Matsuo of "Chocolate Planet"
I was so happy to be able to team up with Audrey and the other two members. I'm curious and excited to see what it will be like if this show continues. When I was speaking as a player, and when I was listening to others speak, it felt like I was on two different shows. I really enjoyed listening to everyone's stories, and there are so many different styles of speaking, so I think you'll enjoy it if you pay attention to that as well!
