French actor Jean Reno, now 77 years old, appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on May 19th. He entertained the audience with an unexpected animal impersonation.
Lennon, who is in Japan for his one-man show "Camel," in which he recounts his life story, was asked by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi what Japanese he knew, to which he replied "A little." He then added "I love you" in Japanese, to which Kuroyanagi responded, "That's amazing! If you can do that, there's nothing more to say." Lennon smiled and said, "That's the most important thing."
After reflecting on his acting career and life so far, Reno explained, "People often talk about what animals they like. At one point, I thought about what my inner animal is, and I realized it's a camel." He explained the reason, saying, "I'm not the type to rush ahead; I'm a person who lives slowly."
Then Tetsuko declared, "I can imitate a camel's bleating!" She opened her mouth wide and demonstrated her "imitation," to which Lennon burst into laughter and commented, "That's a cute, beautiful camel."
When Tetsuko asked, "Are there any that aren't like that? What kind of (sound)?", Lennon demonstrated by vibrating his lips. He explained, "It sounds like this when I'm irritated," surprising Tetsuko.
Finally, Lennon sent a message to his Japanese fans saying, "I am happy and honored to be in Japan and to be with Tetsuko. I hope to come back to Japan in the future and be with you all again."
