The Toyotomi Children at Sekigahara," on NHK BS from 7:30 PM on January 3rd. The truth behind the Toyotomi government will be revealed from the perspective of the vassals whom Hideyoshi and Hidenaga raised.
The Battle of Sekigahara broke out in 1600. The main members of both the Eastern and Western armies were former protégés of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his younger brother, Toyotomi Hidenaga, known as the "Toyotomi Children."
Their foster parents, Hideyoshi and Hidenaga, performed the miracle of unifying Japan from nothing through the unity of their brothers. However, when Hidenaga died before his brother, the Toyotomi government began to collapse. From the perspective of the Toyotomi children who suffered the tragic fate of their split, we will explore the truth behind the successes and failures of the Toyotomi brothers.
