WOWOW Soccer's original character, Calamar, has been appointed as the official mascot for Nankatsu SC, the soccer club owned and represented by its creator, Yoichi Takahashi.
"Calamar" is a character that Takahashi drew with a squid motif. In the future, he will not only appear on WOWOW programs, but also on Nankatsu SC's official club website and official social media. In addition, to commemorate his appointment as the support mascot, "Calamar" LINE stamps will be released, and merchandise will be sold at WOWOW's online store, "WOWOW Department Store."

I am very happy that the "character" I drew has been appointed as Nankatsu SC's support mascot. At the time, I drew the character with the hope that it would be an opportunity for young children and those who don't know anything about soccer to become interested in soccer. Nankatsu SC also has WINGS (a women's team) and an academy (a lower-level organization), so I hope that this will be an opportunity for us to work together to promote soccer.
