NHK Special's regular broadcast of the popular series "Unsolved Cases" (General TV, Saturday 10pm) will air "File 08: The Japanese Red Army vs. the Japanese Police: The Unknown Battle, Part 2" on December 6th.
"File.08" is a two-part series that follows the battle between the Japanese Red Army and the police. This is the second part. The 1977 Dhaka hijacking incident was perpetrated by the Japanese Red Army. The Japanese Red Army took 151 passengers and crew hostage and demanded a large ransom as well as the release of their comrades imprisoned in Japan. The cornered Japanese government agreed.
The police then secretly formed a team to track down the Japanese Red Army. This time, the behind-the-scenes story of the long-running struggle between the Japanese police and the Japanese Red Army is revealed. What was left at the end of the investigation that was shaken by the turbulent world situation?
"Unsolved Cases" is a popular series on NHK Special that began airing in 2011 and unravels historical cases through thorough investigative reporting. It will begin airing as a regular program in October, unearthing new facts and testimonies, while also highlighting connections to the present day and lessons learned. Announcer Mayuko Wakuda will serve as the Caster and main narrator.
