It has been revealed that a new anime series with a completely original story based on the popular game "Death Stranding" by game creator Hideo Kojima, "Death Stranding ISOLATIONS (Working Title)," is being produced and will be exclusively distributed on Disney+ Star in 2027.
This is another story set in the same world and time as "DEATH STRANDING," in which, at the same time as Sam is crossing the North American continent, a group of nameless people (someones) are also trying to overcome loneliness in their own way.
Kojima will serve as executive producer, and the project will be produced by E&H Productions, which has worked on "BULLET/BULLET" and "NINJAKAMUI." Takayuki Sano will serve as director. Concept art by Ilya Kuvshinov, who is in charge of the original character design, has also been released.
"DEATH STRANDING" is a game by KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, which was founded by Kojima, and was released for PS4 in November 2019. The protagonist, "legendary delivery man" Sam Porter Bridges, travels across the American continent, which has been divided by the mysterious phenomenon known as Death Stranding, to connect people.
The fact that famous actors such as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen provided character motion capture also attracted attention. The game has been released on PS5, PC, iPhone, and more, and has a cumulative player base of over 20 million worldwide. The sequel, "DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH," was released for PS5 on June 26th. The launch of the Hollywood co-produced animated film project, "DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO," has also attracted attention.
