On November 4th, actor Ryuji Harada appeared on Abema's variety show "Naokiman's Urban Legends Wide Show SEASON 2" (Tuesdays at 11pm) and talked about a supernatural experience he had while doing research for his YouTube channel.
Harada-san has been touring many haunted spots as part of a YouTube project, and one time he visited Arasaka Pass, where the perpetrator of the Tsuyama Thirty Murders, a mass murder that occurred in a village in Okayama Prefecture in the early Showa period, committed suicide.
The interview was accompanied by Abe Yoshihiro, an "exorcist" who is said to have the power to ward off evil spirits, who reportedly said, "The culprit is here" immediately after arriving at Arasaka Pass. A staff member who claims to have psychic powers also turned pale and testified, "I saw it too." Furthermore, Abe warned Harada, "The culprit is trying to possess you from behind," and Harada quickly took refuge in his car, recalling the tense scene.
He later revealed that when he showed the footage to local people, they pointed out that "that was the exact spot where the perpetrator committed suicide," causing his co-stars in the studio to react with excitement, saying "Wow," and "He's still there..."
