A visual has been released for the collaboration between "BEASTARS FINAL SEASON," the final chapter of the anime "BEASTARS," based on the manga by Paru Itagaki that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten), and "SANDA," another anime based on Itagaki's manga. From "SANDA" comes Santa Claus, while from "BEASTARS FINAL SEASON" comes Legoshi dressed in a Santa outfit and holding a Christmas present. The visual was created in collaboration between Orange, the studio behind "BEASTARS," and Science SARU, the studio behind "SANDA."
It was also announced that the second season of "BEASTARS" will be available for unlimited viewing on FOD, Amazon Prime Video, ABEMA Premium, and other platforms starting January 5, 2026, in addition to being available on Netflix, where it is currently being streamed.
"BEASTARS" is a manga featuring anthropomorphized animals. It depicts an ensemble cast of animals, including the gray wolf Legoshi, set in a world where carnivores and herbivores coexist and cannibalism is taboo. It also garnered attention when it was selected for the "Manga Taisho 2018" award. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" from 2016 to 2020.
The anime is produced by Orange, the studio behind "Land of the Lustrous." Legoshi is voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi and Haru is voiced by Sayaka Sembongi. The first season aired from October to December 2019, and the second season aired from January to March 2021. Part 1 of the "FINAL SEASON" began streaming on Netflix in December 2024. Part 2 will be released on Netflix in 2026.
"SANDA" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" from July 2021 to July 2024. It is a unique "Santa Claus" hero action story set in a near-future Japan where children are overly protected in an era of extremely low birth rates. The anime is directed by Tomohisa Shimoyama, known for "Yurei Deco" and "SUPER SHIRO," and produced by Science SARU. The final episode, episode 12, "Pale Blue Curtain," will be broadcast on MBS, TBS, and other late-night anime slots, "Animeism," from late night on December 19th.
