The episode art for the first episode of "THE ONE PIECE," a brand new anime series based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga "ONE PIECE," has been released. The visual shows the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, setting out to sea, hinting at the "dawn of adventure." Season 1 will consist of 7 episodes, and episode art will be released for each episode.
At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026, the world's largest animation film festival currently being held in France, a one-minute opening scene of the first episode was unveiled. The scene of Roger's execution platform was projected onto the screen, and the venue was filled with excitement. The teaser trailer will be released for the first time at 10 PM on June 24th.
The new anime will be produced by WIT STUDIO, known for works such as "SPY×FAMILY" and "Attack on Titan," and will be a completely new animated adaptation starting from the first chapter of the East Blue arc of the original manga. It will be streamed worldwide on Netflix from February 2027.
Season 1 will cover 50 chapters of the original manga, depicting the story leading up to Luffy's meeting with Sanji, the sous chef of the sea restaurant Baratie. The total running time is approximately 300 minutes, and all 7 episodes will be streamed at once. Masashi Koizuka is directing, Takashi Kishimoto is in charge of series composition, and Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda are in charge of character design and chief animation direction.

The Toei Animation-produced television anime series began airing in 1999.
