On October 23rd, Miyu Matsuo of the idol group Nogizaka46 announced on her blog that she would be graduating from the group at the end of the year and retiring from show business. In a blog post titled "To Another World," she informed fans, "I have an announcement for everyone. I will be graduating from Nogizaka46 after our 40th single."
"As I watched the shining backs of many of my seniors and classmates graduate, I decided that one day I would graduate when I felt like I was having so much fun and it couldn't get any better than this!!!" she continued, explaining the reason for her graduation, "My fans are so kind and generous and accept me even though I'm like this, so I realized that now is the happiest and most enjoyable time of my life, and I want to hang on to this place as long as I can. At the same time, the time has come when I can say from the bottom of my heart that I have done everything I can do while I'm here."
"I will continue to move forward with my life, heading towards a new place," she said, expressing her determination, and called out to everyone, including the members, staff, and everyone involved, "I ask for your continued support until the end of the year!"
Matsuo is 21 years old, born on January 3, 2004. After passing the "Sakamichi Joint Audition" in 2018, she served as a "Sakamichi Trainee" before joining Nogizaka46 as a fourth-generation member in February 2020. She is a personality on the group's radio program "Berg presents Nogizaka46's Nogizaka ni Soudan da!" (Fridays at 8:30 pm), which airs on TOKYO FM.
