A stage greeting to celebrate the release of the fourth chapter, "Sasha," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, " the latest remake of the popular anime series " Space Battleship Yamato ," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on October 11th. Daisuke Ono, who plays Daisuke Ono, Kōsuke Toriumi, who plays Seiya Kitano, Yuto Uemura, who plays Takeru Ageha, Eriko Nakamura, who plays Mikage Kiryū, and general director Harutoshi Fukui appeared. This was Toriumi's first time appearing on stage for a Yamato 3199 stage greeting. Toriumi mentioned Susumu Kodai as a character he was interested in, saying, "Daisuke Ono is playing him right down the middle. It's refreshing to see that these days. I'm able to enjoy Daisuke Ono right down the middle, and I think he's cool... I can't take my eyes off him."
Ono smiled and said, "I'm so happy," adding, "Kitano-san's presence is similar to Tori-san's. He's a senior who's a little older than me, and he always pushes me forward. Yamato has become like my own life."
When the topic turned to the scene in which the Wave Motion Gun is fired, Ono revealed, "When Yu (Hatanaka Tasuku Hatanaka, who plays Domon Ryusuke) first fires it, he's in a pinch and his mind is in a mess, so the 'fire' was short. There is catharsis in 'firing' the Wave Motion Gun. I've been firing it for 12 years too. I gave Yu a little push, saying, 'It's better to unleash it at the end.' It turns out that we're similar (to Ono). I'm glad we were able to do the dubbing together."
"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a new interpretation of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III." Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage," and will also serve as general director for this latest installment. Naomichi Yamato will direct. There will be a total of seven chapters, with the fifth chapter, "The Incandescent Galactic War," set to premiere on February 20, 2026.
