It has been announced that View's popular manga "Let's Go Kaikigumi," currently serialized on the website "Omocoro," will be adapted into a TV anime and broadcast on Sunday evenings on 28 TBS affiliates nationwide in 2026. It will be directed by Yutaka Hirata and produced by C-Station. It will star Tasuku Hatanaka as the protagonist, Ruriko Aoki as Mechako, and will be narrated by Shigeru Chiba.
The anime's teaser visual and teaser PV have also been released. The PV features "Numa," a song by Amana, known for "Strange House" and "Strange Picture," which he specializes in horror-themed works and which he released on YouTube, and he is credited as a "song collaborator."
The story begins one evening when the protagonist meets Mechako, the boss of the Kaiki-gumi, an organization that controls the ghosts and monsters that threaten humans. The protagonist, who is six times more vulnerable to ghosts than an ordinary person, ends up helping the Kaiki-gumi revive.
The original author, View, commented, "Thanks to the director's overwhelming love for the original work, the miraculous decision to make it into an anime was made. When I first received the news, it was just before noon, and I vividly remember being so surprised that I couldn't taste my lunch at all. If you see any old people talking about this at day care centers in the future, it will probably be me. Please be friends with me. I'm sure they will do lots of interesting things that you can only get from an anime, so whether you've read the original work or are meeting them for the first time, please look forward to the broadcast!"
Director Hirata said, "I feel joy as a fan that a work I've fallen in love with is being made into an anime, but also the heavy responsibility of being involved as a director. I feel like I'm softening, then hardening, like XXX. I'm putting my heart and soul into this production so that we can deliver a work that has the same spirit as the original, even though the medium has changed. I hope you will enjoy it."
Hatanaka, who plays the main character, said, "When I auditioned, I was given the opportunity to read the original work, and I found myself laughing out loud at random places on the train, which earned me some pretty cold looks from the people around me. All the characters are so lovable, and I'm truly happy to be able to play him! I'm definitely going to make something interesting!! I'll do my best!!"
Aoki, a super child actor, said, "Let's Go Kaikigumi is being made into an anime! I am truly honored to be able to participate in that world with my voice! I wonder how the unique atmosphere of the work will be portrayed in the anime!? I have a feeling it will be something incredible, and I am already looking forward to it! Please look forward to the broadcast!"
