It was revealed on September 23rd that the popular game "DEATH STRANDING" by game creator Hideo Kojima will be made into an anime. A Hollywood co-production anime film project, "DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO," has begun.
The film will be directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto of ABC ANIMATION STUDIO, who has worked for Toei Animation, Production IG, Square Enix, and others, and is known for working on the animated film "Hugtto! PreCure Futari Futari wa Pretty Cure Cure All-Stars Memories." The screenplay will be written by Aaron Guzikowski.
A teaser video for the anime has also been released on YouTube. It shows a man who appears to be submerged in water, spotting something in front of him, and speeding towards it. The video also shows a tar-like beast rampaging, the man trying to capture it, and two men fighting.
"DEATH STRANDING" is a game by KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, which was founded by Kojima, and was released for PS4 in November 2019. The protagonist, "legendary delivery man" Sam Porter Bridges, travels across the American continent, which has been divided by the mysterious phenomenon known as Death Stranding, to connect people.
The fact that famous actors such as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen provided character motion capture also attracted attention. The game has been released on PS5, PC, iPhone, and more, and has a cumulative player base of over 20 million worldwide. The sequel, "DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH," was released for PS5 on June 26th.
