Makoto Furukawa appears at the stage greeting for "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199"

The completion ceremony for the fourth chapter, "Sasha," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato ," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on September 19th, with Kuwashima Houko, who plays Mori Yuki, and Makoto Furukawa, who plays Alphonse, appearing. This was the first time that Kuwashima and Furukawa appeared together on stage for a "Yamato 3199" stage greeting. Kuwashima praised Furukawa's acting, saying, "I just can't bring myself to hate Alphonse."

In "Yamato 3199," Yuki Mori is captured by Alphonse. Kuwashima explained why he can't hate Alphonse: "When Alphonse speaks, I think of Susumu Kodai. (Daisuke Ono, who plays Kodai) has a similar voice quality and acting style. I was really surprised. They are in sync."

General Director Fukui Harutoshi said, "I was surprised when I heard (Furukawa's performance). It's similar... What a coincidence," to which Furukawa replied delighted, "Thank you!"

Recording for "Yamato 3199" has already finished, and Ono, Kuwashima, and Furukawa all had the opportunity to record together. Kuwashima said, "It felt strange recording with just the three of us," and Furukawa smiled and said, "It was fun!"

Also appearing on stage to greet the audience were Megumi Han, who plays Sasha, Eriko Nakamura, who plays Mikage Kiryu, and director Naomichi Yamato.

"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a new interpretation of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III." Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage," and will also serve as general director for this latest film. Naomichi Yamato will direct. There will be a total of seven chapters, with the fourth chapter set to premiere on October 10th.

The first Space Battleship Yamato anime series aired on TV in 1974, and has since been adapted into other films, including Space Battleship Yamato 2, Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato , and Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection. A remake of the first film, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, was screened in theaters and on TV from 2012 to 2014, and the sequel to 2199, 2202, was broadcast in theaters and on TV from 2017 to 2019. A two-part series, 2205, was screened in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
