"Anpan" Episode 98: Seven years have passed in a flash → Ranko becomes a "harsh movie writer"

The 98th episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on August 13th. In this episode, seven years have passed and viewers' attention was drawn to Ranko ( Yuumi Kawai), who continues to work and is also active as an outspoken film writer.

March 1960. Ranko and Meiko (Nanoka Hara), along with Meiko's eldest daughter Ai (Tsukui Arisa) and second daughter Hana (Maeda Hana), gather at the Yanai household and, together with Nobu (Imada), are engrossed in watching the sumo wrestling match on television.

While reading a magazine, Meiko says, "This article was written by Ranko-san. It was interesting and made me want to see this movie," to which Ranko smiles and says, "It's 'Ben-Hur,' you should definitely check it out." When Nobu says, "Ranko will be writing a series of movie reviews soon," Meiko is surprised and says, "What? That's amazing!" Nobu also praises her, saying, "That's really impressive, even while working at a company," but Ranko replies, "I just write about the movies I like."

Meanwhile, Kentaro (Takumi Kitamura Fumiya Takahashi) at a cafe, said, "You continued to submit your work to film magazines, and it was recognized and serialized... That's amazing, Ranko-san." When Takashi explained, "It seems your slightly harsh film reviews are popular," Kentaro responded, "That's just like Ranko-san."

Later, there is a scene where Ranko has a meeting with her editor at a cafe. After looking over Ranko's manuscript, the editor says, "This month's edition is also good, with a sharp start," and hands Ranko a schedule of upcoming preview screenings. After the editor leaves, Ranko calls out to Nobu, who is waiting in a nearby seat. Nobu smiles happily and says, "Wow, Ranko's amazing. You're writing manuscripts while being a business girl."
