Lawson's new TV commercial, "Karaage-kun Dad Collage," starring actor Tomio Umezawa, has been airing nationwide since August 12th. The commercial is for the new "Karaage-kun" product, which was released on the same day and has different versions for each of the seven regions across the country.
Lawson, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, is currently launching various commemorative products and initiatives under the title "Operation Happy Community." As part of this initiative, Lawson has launched "Local Karaage-kun," which recreates the flavors of famous local stores and corporate products in each of the seven regions of Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Tokai/Hokuriku, Kinki, Chugoku/Shikoku, and Kyushu.
Commercials are also produced for each region, with Umezawa delivering lines that are tailored to the region, such as "It's so good!" in the Hokkaido version and "It's so delicious!" in the Kanto version.
After filming, when asked about her impressions of the seven flavors, Umezawa praised them, saying, "I hate giving compliments, so I'll be honest, but they're all really delicious." She said that her favorite flavors were "Rich Miso Ramen Flavor" (Hokkaido) and "Bone-in Chicken Flavor" (Chugoku/Shikoku), and emphasized, "I don't lie!"
