"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is based on a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was killed by demons, as he joins the Demon Slaying Corps in order to turn his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon, back into a human. The first part of the "Infinity Castle Arc" trilogy, "Chapter 1: Akaza Returns," was released on July 18th in 452 theaters, surpassing the 2020 "Mugen Train," which recorded the highest box office revenue in Japan's history at approximately 40.4 billion yen. It has been a massive hit, grossing 22,072,190,000 yen in the 25 days since its release and attracting over 15.69 million viewers.
In preparation for the final battle with the demons, Tanjiro and the Demon Slaying Corps members are taking part in a joint intensive training session with the strongest swordsmen, the Pillars, when their archenemy, Muzan Kibutsuji, appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion, the headquarters of the Demon Slaying Corps. Tanjiro and the Pillars rush to the aid of the Demon Slaying Corps' head, the Master, who is in danger, but are dropped into a mysterious space by Muzan. Tanjiro and the others fall into the demons' base, the Infinity Castle, and the final battle between the Demon Slaying Corps and the demons begins.
