It has been announced that the TV anime "A Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu," based on the manga by Kuzushiro, currently being serialized on Kodansha's web manga service Comic Days, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, Iwate Menkoi TV, BS Asahi, and AT-X from October. Additional cast members have also been announced, with Kobayashi Yu playing Nashida Arisa, a manga artist who has a romantic comedy manga serialized in a boys' magazine, Matsui Eriko playing Kakunodate Touko, a female shogi player who supervises the manga's shogi, and Miharu Hanai playing Nekonote, an assistant who lives in Aomori and aspires to be a manga artist.
The first promotional video, which features the opening theme "Zettai Houney!" by HoneyWorks feat. Hakoniwa Lily, and a key visual of the six main characters posing have also been released.

The series is a work-related comedy manga set in the manga industry. Nana Futami, an aspiring girl manga artist, finally starts serializing her long-awaited shogi manga "Subaru e" with the help of her cool editor and reliable assistants, but she faces various difficulties. The series depicts the difficult life of manga artists of Futami and her friends. The anime will be directed by Kaoru Suzuki and produced by Voil.
