The first promotional video and key visual for the theatrical anime "Eisenflugel," based on a novel published in 2009 by Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, known for "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and "Fate/Zero," has been released. This is the first new information release in about two and a half years since the information ban was lifted in the fall of 2022. The promotional video consists of footage from the main story, showing the air force squadron to which the main character Karl Schnitz belongs flying, and the visual depicts Karl's encounter with a dragon.
"Eisenflugel" is set in an era when the skies belonged to dragons with giant wings, and tells the story of "aircraft and dragons" and "war and people." While some people challenge the speed of others to seize the supremacy of the skies from the dragons, Karl Schnitz, a pilot with exceptional piloting skills, pilots the world's first jet-engine aircraft, the Blitzvogel, and challenges uncharted territory by flying at speeds faster than the fastest dragon, the Kaiserdrache.
The anime will be produced by A-1 Pictures, with Seiji Mizushima as general director and Daizen Komatsuda as director.
