WOWOW has announced that it will broadcast and stream the Nations Championship (2026, 2028, 2030), a new international men's 15-a-side rugby tournament to be established in 2026.
The Nations Championship is a new international tournament held every two years in which a group of six countries representing the Northern Hemisphere (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, and Italy) compete against a group of four countries representing the Southern Hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, and South Africa), plus Japan and Fiji.
The 2026 tournament is scheduled to be held in July and November, with Japan and other countries playing a total of seven matches, including matches against six countries in the opposite group, as well as a Finals Weekend to determine the final rankings.
WOWOW plans to broadcast and stream all 15 matches of the Six Nations (February-March 2026), a European competition between six European countries that also compete in the Nations Championship to determine the strongest country, as well as the Super Rugby Pacific (February-June 2026), a tournament to determine the strongest club in the Southern Hemisphere.
