It has been announced that former member of idol group Nogizaka46, Kitagawa Yuri's first photo essay, "Kitagawa Yuri 1st Photo Essay Callback" (Shufunotomosha), will be released on August 8th, her 24th birthday. After graduating from the group, Kitagawa studied at the University of California, San Diego, USA, to become an actor, learning theater, scriptwriting and producing. The book chronicles her year abroad, which she has rarely shared in public.
Kitagawa was born on August 8, 2001. She joined Nogizaka46 as a member of the 4th generation in 2018. In parallel with her activities with the group, she also attracted attention as a talented girl studying at Keio University and was active in various quiz shows such as "Toudaiou" (TBS). She will graduate from the group in June 2023 to study abroad. In 2024, the film "I wish there was no happiness," which was her first screenplay, will be released. In March of this year, she announced her graduation from Keio University on her own YouTube channel.
Kitagawa commented, "It's been a long time! I'm Kitagawa Yuri! It's been about two years since I graduated from Nogizaka46, and about a year since I finished my study abroad in the United States to study acting right after graduation, and now I'm publishing my first photo essay! While I was studying abroad, I took photos every day on my smartphone, hoping that I would someday be able to share them with everyone, but when I put them together in a book, I was worried that it might be too private, as it was filled with all of my joys, sorrows, anger, happiness, and growth."
"The pages that were taken after I returned to Japan are full of honest moments that make me want to cry when I see them, and I'm looking forward to everyone seeing me in a new light. I'd be happy if you could put this book in your room, which contains everything I didn't know before, written like a diary with photos and words, and feel like you're walking through life with me, step by step," she said. A5 size, 176 pages. 2,750 yen.
