Bandai will release a figure of "Ultimate Luminous DAICON FILM version Return of Ultraman," based on the 1982 independent film "DAICON FILM version Return of Ultraman." The figure will cost 14,300 yen.
The film was produced by the Osaka-based group "DAICON FILM," centered around university students Hideaki Anno and Takami Akai, and its special effects and animation, which transcended the realm of amateurs, have become legendary. The figures are three-dimensional reproductions of Ultraman, played by Anno himself, and the multiplying space monster Bug Jewel. Based on existing documents and testimony from the staff at the time, attention has been paid to the details, such as the shape and coloring. Ultraman stands approximately 12 cm tall, and Bug Jewel stands approximately 16 cm tall.
Pre-orders will be accepted from 11:00 AM on November 26th on Bandai Namco Group's shopping site, Premium Bandai. Shipment is scheduled for March 2026.
