The official flagship store for merchandise from Eiichiro Oda's popular manga "ONE PIECE," "ONE PIECE BASE SHOP," will open on December 5th on the fourth floor of the main building of Shinjuku Marui (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo). The entire fourth floor of the main building, with a floor area of approximately 1,185 square meters, will be used as a store, and will sell approximately 800 items in December. Approximately 500 of these will be exclusive products for the shop.
At the opening ceremony held on November 26th, Bandai Namco Experience President Hiroshi Kawasaki introduced the store, saying, "This is not just a merchandise store, but an experiential facility where you can go on a voyage and search for your own treasure in a store with an ocean and island motif. We paid attention to every detail so that you can immerse yourself in the world of ONE PIECE. We hope you will experience the store's concept of 'Freedom of Path, Infinite Seas.'"
Hiroyuki Nakano, editor-in-chief of Shueisha's manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Jump," which serializes "One Piece," explained, "This shop was a long-cherished dream for both the author, Eiichiro Oda, and our editorial team. We aimed to create a space that is different from the Jump Shop and the Straw Hat Store that preceded it, where customers can experience the charm of the shop itself. The space is based on a blue theme reminiscent of the Grand Line, with spaces scattered like islands, where we have left all of our One Piece goods in the world. We hope you will enjoy shopping with the feeling of being a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. However, please note that we do not accept "treasure payments."
Regarding the merchandise, she proudly stated, "These are all products that our staff, who love ONE PIECE, have developed with excitement for people who love ONE PIECE," and introduced them, "By the way, my top recommendation is the Usopp rubber band."
