Asuka Kawazu, a model and actor who gained attention for her role as the heroine of the special effects drama "Kamen Rider Saber" (2020-21), has been announced to star in the new short drama app "BUMP" called "Azatoku, Kawaiku, Shitatakani" (to be released at 7 pm on June 11th). She will play a fierce and cunning role as a "cunning girl" in a battle with former "Nogizaka46" member Yuki Yoda.
The drama is a film adaptation of the manga of the same name (Bunkasha) by Maeda Alan, which has recorded a total of over 920,000 downloads in digital comics. Beautiful and well-natured, Noriko Enatsu (Kawazu), the "princess of the public relations department," spares no effort or consideration to be liked. However, with the arrival of new employee Kurihara Sui (Yoda), she loses popularity with the handsome section chief Kawaguchi Shunsuke (Wada Masanari) and other male employees, and is filled with anger and a sense of crisis as she sees him as a rival. The cunning "sly girls" are at their wits' end, and a dark and sinister battle unfolds.
Kawazu commented, "This was an opportunity for me to think again about what it means to be cunning. Rather than trying to please men or pretending to be stupid, it's about being clever and cunning for the sake of your own justice. Even while I was acting, I had the impression that this was a very refreshing women's drama!"
Looking back on the filming, she said, "I am almost at an adversarial distance from Sui, played by Yoda, but my conversations with Yoda became more lively with each passing day, and it was a wonderful encounter that we were destined to have!" She continued, "I think it's going to be a delightful women's drama in which Enatsu and Sui each make use of their different styles of cunning!
