Tower Records Shinjuku, known for its extensive selection of anime songs, is in charge of anime sales, and Sho Higuchi, the anime buyer, reports on best-selling anime songs and the voices of the sales floor on "Shinjuku Anime Song Scope." The number one album at the store from May 4th to 11th was "Macross Frontier Macross Frontier All-Time Best Album 'Nyan Nyan Greatest Hits!'," a best album from the popular anime series "Macross."
◇Last week's results
The top-ranked "Macross Frontier All-Time Best Album 'Nyannyan Greatest Hits!'" debuted in third place last time, and took the top spot in just its second week since release. This "perfect" all-time best album includes songs that have not been included in previous albums, such as "The Labyrinth of Time," the theme song for the short film "Macross Frontier : The Labyrinth of Time," as well as "Sacrifice" and "Good job!", and was released on Ranka Lee's birthday, April 29th.
The limited edition comes in three versions: the regular edition, the limited edition, and the limited edition special edition, which includes a special CD with a drama and cover song project called "Deculture Singing Contest" in which Sheryl Nome and Ranka sing each other's songs. In addition to the drama and cover song CD included in the limited edition, the special edition comes with a Blu-ray disc and an acrylic stand that includes "Musume Musume Chronicle," a compilation of past live digest footage.
Among the works that made their debut was the second single "Hi-Vision" by Yumegendai Myu-Type, a new band from the popular anime and game "BanG Dream!". The title song "Hi-Vision" was used as the theme song for the game "VIRTUAL GIRL @ WORLD'S END".

Higuchi Sho is a buyer in charge of anime at Tower Records Shinjuku store, 7th floor (Japanese music/sales promotion). He was transferred from the Machida store in 2014. He got into anime because of 1990s works such as "Neon Genesis Evangelion", "BLUE SEED", and "VS Knight Ramune & 40 Flame", and among anime songs, he loves listening to character songs, especially songs related to idol anime. His favorite anthem is "Up! 10sion Pleeeeeeeeease!" from "The Idolmaster Million Live!". His favorite anime and games include "Pretty Rhythm", "The Idolmaster", "Photo Kano", and "Sakura Wars".
