Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro will appear on the popular group SixTONES' signature show "Golden SixTONES" (Nippon TV, Sunday 9pm) on May 4th. Danjuro will challenge the completely original wobbly "broom" game with the members of SixTONES, showing off his incredible physical strength and mental strength that he has developed through Kabuki.
The wobbly broom game involves holding a giant broom in your hand for one minute without losing your balance. The show features a specially made 2.5-meter-long giant broom, as well as numerous obstacles and strong winds. While bashfully laughing, "I can still do this at my age (lol)," Danjuro demonstrates his incredible sense of balance, using the core strength and mental strength he has developed through Kabuki.
In the new cooking battle "Sauce Only Restaurant," where participants make just the sauce that goes with the guest's favorite food, the members of SixTONES will attempt to make an extremely original "soba sauce" in order to impress Danjuro.
There is also a scene in which his son, Ichikawa Shinnosuke, reveals things about life at "Danjūrō Papa's" house that only his family knows, revealing the true face of Danjūrō that is not shown on stage.
