It has been revealed that comedian Eiko Kano, also known as 50TA (Fifty A), will be providing a song for the popular group King & Prince. The big project will be broadcast on "London Hearts SP" (TV Asahi affiliate, excluding some areas) from 10:10pm to 10:54pm on December 13th.
50TA is Kano's artist name, which was born from a prank project on the TV show "London Hearts." This year, as part of his 15th anniversary project, he held a live concert for 10,000 people at Yokohama Arena (Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City) and also made a splash by appearing on the station's music program "Music Station."
Then, an unexpected big project came to 50TA. About four months ago, King & Prince's Nagase Ren and Takahashi Kaito offered to write a song for the group, and Tamura Atsushi, the MC of "London Hearts," was so impressed that he couldn't help but ask the staff, "Am I being fooled?"
Concerned that 50TA might become nervous, they decide to tell him about the project, requesting a song for the virtual idol KPDY. However, memories of a past "Kamen Rider theme song prank" come back to haunt 50TA, who becomes suspicious and says, "I can't be happy like I used to be."
However, once the song production began, the "Melody Factory Manager" was still alive and well, and an energetic song that was full of 50TA's signature style was born.
Nagase commented, "When I appeared on Music Station in the summer, 50TA was there with me, and I thought it would be fun if 50TA, who I've always loved, provided a song for this album. So I asked him, thinking it would be a long shot, and to my surprise he said yes, and I still can't believe it! I requested a call-and-response song, and when I heard the finished song, it had a 50TA-like feel, but was also a perfect song that suited King & Prince's current style, so I was really happy and have listened to it many times. I want everyone to shout "Itadakimasu!" Let's have fun together!"
Takahashi said, "King & Prince will be collaborating with everyone's 50TA! Thank you very much. 50TA's music and lyrics have the power to make everyone happy, energetic and covered in smiles.
