It has been announced that the TV anime "The Barbarian's Bride," based on the manga by Kotobanoriaki currently being serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will begin airing in October. The story is about Seraphina de Ravilant, a "princess knight" who was defeated in battle, being proposed to by Veor, the barbarian king who defeated her, and the two former enemies begin living together as engaged couple in an "otherworldly marriage tale." The first main promotional video was released on YouTube, showing Seraphina being surprised to find out that Veor, the barbarian king she fears, is actually a sincere and loyal young man.
The main staff was also announced, with Takayuki Tanaka as director, Miya Asakawa as series composer, and Masayoshi Kikuchi as main character designer. The series will be produced by Kotobukimondo.
In addition to Sayumi Suzushiro playing Seraphina, the cast will also include Inomata Keiji as Weor, Hana Hishikawa as Tsetsi, and Aki Toyosaki as Marcius.
