Isayama suddenly asked Wahei, "Please marry me." Wahei looked at Isayama intently and retorted, "Mayor. That's not really what you said, is it? I just said it for the sake of saying it."
"Ufufu. So you got it? Too bad!" Isayama laughed, and told Wahei, "I thought you might just say 'I get it' in the heat of the moment. Too bad, that was close!"
When Wahei said, "I'm a former secretary, so I would know," Isayama joked, "Oh, that's kind of embarrassing. I wonder if he knows everything about my feelings. That's disgusting, it's troubling! How dirty."
"Well, you understand that I'm serious about what I'm about to say, right? I'm sure," Isayama began, and then asked, "Mr. Nagakura, I would like you to be my successor. Would you like to run for mayor of Kamakura?"
On social media, comments such as, "A surprising statement from the mayor! Will Nagakura Wahei become mayor of Kamakura?," "I think he'll make a good mayor. And he looks like he'll have fun every day," "Hey, mayor, please get married lol I burst out laughing lol," "After wishing for him to 'get married', he's now unexpectedly been named his successor. As usual, Mayor Isayama is making Wahei go around in circles," and "It was a great scene that showed how the mayor-section chief duo has deepened over the past 11 years."
Some of the opinions expressed were, "Has time stopped for Shibata Rie?! She's the one who's changed the least," "It's amazing how Shibata Rie's appearance hasn't changed at all," and "Shibata Rie hasn't changed at all, has she?! Isn't that amazing!?"
