The 21st episode of the NHK morning drama series " Anpan " (General Asadora , Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on April 28th. It depicted the harsh dormitory life of Nobu (Imada) and Usako ( Sara Shida), who have entered a women's normal school, and became a hot topic among viewers.
In the 21st episode, in 1936, Nobu moves into the dormitory of the Women's Normal School, seen off by her family and Takashi (Takumi Kitamura). From the first day of school, Nobu and Usako are taken aback by the strictness of their militaristic homeroom teacher Yukiko Kuroi(Kumi Takiuchi) and the other seniors.
Living in the dormitory, Nobu and his friends' lives change completely. There are many rules, such as no private conversations in the hallways, bowing and giving way to seniors when you meet them, and waking up at least an hour before your normal wake-up time. After taking care of the seniors, they eat breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and go to school at 8:30 a.m. After finishing their classes at school, they return to the dormitory, have dinner at 6:00 p.m., study at home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and go to bed at 9:30 p.m. However, when the head of the dormitory goes to "purify himself," it is the first-year students' duty to accompany him even in the middle of the night and to fill a washbasin with water and wait.
On social media, people were saying things like, "Dorm life is so unfair lol," "There's a dorm and the teachers and seniors are strict, so there's no way to escape," "It's really strict," "Do they have to take care of their seniors too?" and "Can Nobu and Usako endure it?"
