The 21st episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on April 28th, and featured the "Kyo-A Incident" which was depicted exactly one year earlier in the previous Asadora"The Tiger and Her Wings."
In the 21st episode, in 1936, Nobu (Imada) moves into the dormitory of a women's normal school, seen off by her family and Takashi (Takumi Kitamura ).
Nobu and Usako ( Kumi Takiuchi ) are frightened by the strictness of their militaristic homeroom teacher Yukiko Kuroi ( Sara Shida Kumi) and the seniors. And so, Nobu and his friends' lives change completely. Meanwhile, Taku, a student preparing to enter high school, hears Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) talk passionately about his future. Suddenly, Taku screams out what's on his mind. Inspired by Chihiro, Taku finally lets out his true feelings about what he wants to do. ...And so the story unfolds.
Having decided to pursue a career in law, Chihiro hands Taka a newspaper and asks, "Brother, do you know about the Kyoa Incident?" and "What do you think?", but Taka has no idea about the incident. The article reports on the first hearing of the case, with headlines such as "Those involved deny the charges." Chihiro tells Taka, "The people from the political and financial world who have been detained deny the charges. We don't know yet whether they will be found innocent," and then reveals her feelings: "I want to create a world where right is recognized as right. To that end, I want to pursue a career in law as soon as possible. I want to be on the side of the people."
The Kyoa Incident was depicted in the fourth and fifth weeks of the drama "The Tiger and Her Wings," which aired a year earlier, and the heroine of the drama, Torako's (Ito Sari) father, Naoto (Takashi Okabe), was arrested for bribery. It was an incident that shook the heroine's family, the Inozume family, as it took a year and a half for the trial to reach a conclusion in December 1936, and Naoto was found not guilty.
