The drama series "Monster (Mamono)" starring actress Kumiko Aso (TV Asahi, Friday 11:15pm *excluding some regions). The synopsis and stills from the second episode, which will air on April 25th, have been released.
Lawyer Ayame Hanajin (Asou) listens to the pleas of Natsune Minamoto (Kita Kana), who cries, "Help my husband!", and visits her husband, Toya Minamoto (Akihisa Shiono), at the detention center.
Touya was suspected of murdering Ayame's teacher, the university professor Okutaro Nada (Shiro Sano), who died under mysterious circumstances. Nada's wife Yoko Mogami (Misuzu Kanno) testified that she witnessed Touya leaving the scene the night before the incident.
"I didn't kill him," Toya says, glaring straight into Ayame's eyes. Toya confesses his relationship with Yoko and her family. In high school, Toya was a classmate of Nada and Yoko's son, Jun (Motoki Ochiai). Invited by Jun, Toya joined the same fencing club and became Nada's practice partner, which led to him frequenting the Nada residence.
Back then, Yoko extended a helping hand to Toya, a lonely boy who grew up in an underprivileged environment...or so she should have done. Toya says that now Yoko wants to frame him as the culprit.
Ayame is moved by Touya's innocent gaze as he reveals his entire past and says, "I won't lie to you." Touya also becomes very interested in her. The two of them can no longer suppress their mutual attraction...
The script is by Erika Seki. It is a co-production between TV Asahi and South Korea's SLL, which has produced global hits such as "Itaewon Class." A love suspense story about a lone lawyer, Ayame Hanajin, who falls in forbidden love with Toya Minamoto (played by Akihisa Shiono), who becomes a suspect in a murder case.
