It has been revealed that the sixth season of the TV anime "Kingdom," based on the popular manga by Yasuhisa Hara, will be produced and will be broadcast on NHK General TV from October. The sixth season depicts the full-scale war between Qin and Zhao as the battle for the unification of China intensifies. A visual has been released of Shin of the Hi Shin Unit holding the spear once entrusted to him by the great general, Ou Ki.
The fifth series, which aired from January to March 2024, ended with Qin taking control of Heiyang Hill thanks to the efforts of Kanki's army and the Hi Shin Unit, making it a base for the invasion of Zhao. In the sixth series, the battle with Zhao finally begins, with Qin deploying an allied force of three armies led by Wang Jian, Kanki, and Yang Duanhe. The new generation of Shin, Meng Tian, and Wang Ben also lead their own units and take part in the battle as independent mobile troops, entrusted with important roles. Furthermore, Shin will march out to battle with "Wang Ki's spear."
"Kingdom" is a popular manga that has been serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) since 2006. Set in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period of China, it depicts the exploits of Shin, who aims to become the greatest general in the world, and the drama of heroes such as King Ei Sei of Qin, who later becomes known as the First Emperor. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 110 million.
The first series of the TV anime was broadcast from June 2012 to February 2013, the second series from June 2013 to March 2014, the third series from April to October 2021, the fourth series from April to October 2022, and the fifth series from January to March 2024.
