NHK's period drama " Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin 2," starring actress Fuka Koshiba , will be broadcast on terrestrial television from December 14th in the "Special Selection! Period Drama" slot (General TV, Sundays at 6:10 AM).
" Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is set in the mid-Edo period and depicts the hard work and ingenuity of ordinary people as they make their businesses successful, while incorporating a variety of customs. Season 1, which aired in 2023, follows the protagonist Sachi (Koshiba), who marries Tomozo (Leo Matsumoto), the sixth-generation owner of Gosuzuya, and how they begin selling "Hamahabutae" (a traditional Japanese silk fabric) from New Year's as a desperate plan to revive the struggling Gosuzuya.
In Season 2, while increasing Gosuzuya's wealth, she experiences the death of her beloved... She becomes the seventh female owner in Osaka, where women's names are prohibited, opens a store in Edo, and builds the foundation of Gosuzuya's Edo store with her eccentric ideas and the bonds she forms with her colleagues.
In addition to Koshiba and Matsumoto, the cast includes Shigeaki Kato, Yoko Ishino, Aki Asakura, Tomohito Yashima, Yuki Izumisawa, Itsuji Itao, Itsuki Nagasawa, Hidetoshi Hoshida, Ken Tanaka, Hisako Manda, Masanobu Takashima, Morio Kazama, and Hiroshi Tachi. The series will air on General TV every Sunday from 6:10 a.m. from December 14th to February 8th, 2026. There will be a break on January 4th, 2026.
