" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu Komatsu(1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." Just then, a huge shock hits the Asada family.
In the second episode, "Good Day, Mr. Fushiawase," Nobu's grandfather, Kamaji, a stonemason, injures his arm in an accident. He is initially turned away by Kamaji, but with the help of Hatako (Noriko Eguchi), Kusakichi starts a business baking "Anpan" (sweet bean buns) at the Asada family home. Meanwhile, the Yanai family receives a letter from Taku's mother, Tomiko, who they haven't heard from in a while.
