The NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 am and others), starring Mio Imada , will enter its third week, "What were we born for?", on April 14th.
" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu Komatsu(1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
In the third week, in 1935, Nobu (played by Imada) is a fifth-year high school student, and Takashi (played by Takumi Kitamura) is a fifth-year junior high school student who loves manga. Asada Pan is still going strong, albeit on a small scale.
Nobu reunites with Lieutenant Kijima (Ichikawa Tomohiro), who was attending high school for girls, and is asked to make bread for a local bread-eating contest. This is the biggest job since the Asada Bread store opened, and the Asada family becomes lively. On the day of the bread-eating contest, Nobu ends up running in place of Takashi due to an unexpected turn of events. Nobu overtakes the boys and takes first place, but...
Meanwhile, Taka's mother, Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima), who hasn't been heard from for eight years, returns to Gomenyo Town...
